A Peanut Powered Protein Boost to Fuel Your Workout

By: Jada Linton, RDN, LD

An energizing workout can make you feel strong and it is an amazing way to maintain great spirits through the week.  Have you ever wondered if there was a perfect way to add plant-based protein without all the extra calories? There definitely is, and the answer is peanut powder!

Some of my weekly goals always include finding a way to joyfully move my body and love it! With that as a goal I knew I had to add a tasty protein boost to help fuel my workouts.

To help keep up with your own workout aspirations try a delicious peanut powder boost. It can be a quick addition to your pre/post workout shakes. Peanut powder is a good source of plant-based protein, is low in fat, and it’s a tasty, affordable, and satisfying addition to your workout regimen.

Peanut powder can be reconstituted by adding water to make it as thick as you prefer.  When you add water, you create a delicious low-cal, low fat peanut butter! Two tablespoons of reconstituted peanut powder will yield 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. The resulting peanut butter has lower calories and fat.

The fat found naturally in peanuts is mostly good fat, but if you’re trying to cut back on calories, powdered peanut butter can be a way to continue to enjoy the peanutty flavor you love. Powdered peanut butter is also a great addition to anyone’s pantry as an easy, delicious and nutritious addition to countless recipes.
