Warm Foods Weekend: Slow Cooker Dinners

I love my slow cooker this time of year. I got an upgrade for Christmas that has programmable settings and locks to make traveling with it easier. Plus, I recently discovered slow cooker liners that make clean up a breeze. You can’t beat having a homemade meal in the same amount of effort it takes to order delivery or stop by the drive thru.

Just in time for our Warm Foods Weekend series, here are some comforting ideas for your slow cooker or crockpot.

Spicy Peanut Chicken: With ingredients that you probably have in your pantry and fridge right now, you can make a meal that satisfies and warms your whole family.

Thai Pulled Pork Sandwiches: This recipe shows that you can even impress your friends with a slow cooker meal. Pork butt slow roasted with beer and peanut sauce topped with crunchy, fresh slaw will bring that summer backyard BBQ feel to your wintery day.

Chipotle Beef Chili: The flavors of Mexico and the Southwest are front and center in this recipe. A tablespoon of peanut butter adds nutty creaminess and balances the spices.
