Students Use Peanuts to Boost Their Service Organizations

This fall, college students from around the U.S. shared their love for peanuts and peanut butter through an innovative social media contest called Snack Attack. The contest challenged college service centers to host their own Snack Attack party and generate the most engagement and excitement about the power of peanuts through Twitter and Instagram using #peanutpower.

We sent the schools some peanuts and peanut butter, #peanutenvy swag and a gift card to make a unique Peanut Power trail mix to fuel their campuses through midterms.

The school who had the most (and most creative) Twitter and Instagram activity was declared the Snack Attack competition champion and is receiving a donation from America’s peanut farmers through the National Peanut Board, which will go toward funding their community outreach efforts. Every school also received a donation of over 1,000 units of peanut butter towards their college food bank to help support and feed students in need.
