We all love the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but did you know peanut butter is good for more than just your sandwiches? Peanut butter is delicious, filling, rich in healthy fats – we could go on and on about the perks of eating peanut butter. We’re sharing some creative ways you can incorporate this nutty treat into different foods and other parts of your life. You may want to pick up a big jar of PB the next time you’re at the store!
Here are 5 creative way to use peanut butter.
1. Put peanut butter at the bottom of an ice cream cone
There’s no better way to eat ice cream than in a cone! If you put a bit of peanut butter at the bottom of your cone it will help prevent any spillage. Plus it’s a delicious treat at the end.
2. Make a quick and easy hummus
Homemade hummus just got a lot easier! Tahini, a main ingredient in hummus, is hard to come by and rarely on hand in your pantry. Luckily you can replace the tahini with creamy peanut butter, which is a staple in most pantries, or you can add to it. Here’s a recipe for boiled peanut hummus.
3. Spread it on a burger
Ditch the lettuce and tomato and add peanut butter on your burger. It might sound weird, but we promise it’s delicious!
4. Use it as a butter substitute
You might be familiar with peanut butter’s spreadable qualities, but it can also replace butter in a recipe. Next time you are cooking, add a 50/50 mix of peanut butter and oil for the required butter amount instead.
5. Gum Remover
Peanut butter is a hero when it comes to removing gum. If you have gum stuck in your carpet, clothes or furniture, peanut butter can help get it out. Just cover the gum completely with peanut butter, wait a few minutes for the peanut butter to work its magic, and it will come right out.
