Standardization of Mississippi Peanut Variety Trials

As of the end of March 2019, locations for the 2019 peanut OVT's have been determined. Currently plans are to test approximately 14-18 peanut varieties at 4 locations, throughout the state. The varieties to be tested have been suggested by the MSU Extension peanut specialist. The seed has been requested from suppliers and/or Foundation Seed programs from neighboring states that currently produce seed peanuts. All peanut OVT plots will be replicated four times and randomized within each plot area. All varieties at each location will be planted with a 2-row Monosem planter equipped with cone planting units. Each plot will be approximately 30 feet in length.
