Data is collected each year on the tests that are performed In the field. From the data collected, either from selection trials or advanced disease or yield trials allows the peanut breeding program to progress the most adapted and well-suited breeding lines for the Virginia-Carolina region. Ultimately, these breeding lines are determined, after several years of selections and testing to be released as new high-yielding, high-oleic and disease resistant cultivars.
