The latest and greatest in today’s next big food trends were unveiled at the 2019 Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. More than 80,000 specialty foods & beverages were on display to be discovered by food retail buyers and food professionals. The National Peanut Board joined over 1,400 exhibitors to promote new products and showcase the power of the peanut.
At the show, NPB highlighted peanut products from companies, such as Sir Francis' bacon peanut brittle; Hope & Harmony’s Virginia peanuts; Hampton Farms freshly ground honey roasted peanut butter; as well as Crazy Richard’s, who unveiled their new product, frozen peanut butter protein bites called Wholly Rollies; and Puffworks’ peanut butter puffs.

Plant-based everything:
Options for plant-based sources of protein continue to expand for those who are looking to venture their palettes into a vegan-friendly world of tasty and nutritious options. Food trend experts anticipate this category to continue its growth – with more snack options being intermingled with products that can be used from root-to-stem ingredients to help combat food waste.
Edible beauty:
Collagen-infused food products are being touted as an easy way to promote skin-vitality. Snack bars, beverages and even peanut butter are being infused with collagen to help give an additional health boost to products on the shelves.
New peanut-product shout outs:
Two brands known for their unique flavors have gone back to basics with classic creations. Peanut Butter & Company launched Simply Smooth and Simply Crunchy and Eliot’s Adult Nut Butters premiered Classic Salted Peanut Butter.
